The short version: your practice audio is scored on your device and is never uploaded. To coach you, CaseBrick sends the text of your messages and answers, your pipeline and résumé content, and any images you attach to our AI provider — and keeps a short "memory" of facts you tell the coach so it can help you over time. You can delete your account — which erases that memory — in Settings, or email us to manage the memory separately. The full detail is below.

1.Your practice audio is scored on your device

When you record a practice answer, CaseBrick analyzes the audio on your device — in the app, on your phone; on the web, in your browser — to score your delivery. Your recording is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

If you use the optional spoken-answer transcription in a mock interview, CaseBrick uses your device's built-in speech recognition — Apple's on iOS, or your browser's on the web (in some browsers, such as Chrome and Edge, that built-in feature processes the audio through the browser maker's service, such as Google). The transcription is handled by that provider, and only the resulting text is sent to CaseBrick — never your audio.

2.What we store

If you create an account, we store your email address, your name, your subscription status, the jobs and interview details you add (your pipeline), any résumé text you provide, your practice scores and readiness, and a short list of durable facts the AI coach has learned about you (your "memory"). This is held in our database, hosted by Supabase (United States). We do not store your practice audio.

3.The AI coach, mock interviews & what is sent

CaseBrick's AI features — the chat coach, tailored questions, AI feedback, and mock interviews — are powered by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic). To generate responses, CaseBrick sends the provider the text of your messages and answers, the relevant parts of your pipeline and résumé, and any images you attach in chat. It does not send your practice audio.

Anthropic processes this to return a response and, per its API terms, does not use data sent through its API to train its models.

4.Coach memory

So the coach can help you across conversations, CaseBrick derives a short list of durable facts from your chats (for example, your skills, gaps, goals, or preferences) and stores it with your account. This memory is used only to personalize your coaching. Deleting your account erases this memory along with the rest of your data; to review or delete it separately, email support@casebrick.com.

5.Résumé & job postings

If you attach a résumé file (PDF or DOCX) or add a job posting, the file or text is sent to our servers to extract the text so the AI can tailor your prep. We store the extracted text with your account and use it only to personalize your prep.

6.Who we share data with (subprocessors)

We use a small set of trusted providers to run CaseBrick, and each only ever receives what its function needs — never your practice audio: Stripe (payments), Supabase (your account data), Anthropic (the AI coach, tailored questions, feedback, and mock interviews — it receives your text, pipeline/résumé context, and any images you attach, and does not train on data sent through its API), OpenAI (the AI interviewer's spoken voice), Resend (the optional weekly email), and Vercel (hosting).

For exactly what each provider receives and where it's based, see our always-current Subprocessors page. These providers are based in the United States and may process the limited data described here there; by using CaseBrick you consent to this processing.

7.The browser extension (CaseBrick Clip) — web only

CaseBrick Clip is our optional Chrome extension, available on the web only. It has a single purpose: when you click it on a job posting (or select text and choose "Prep with CaseBrick"), it reads the job-description text on that page and opens CaseBrick with it, so you can build prep without copy-pasting.

  • On job boards, it lights up when there's a posting. On a defined list of job sites (LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Glassdoor, Wellfound, ZipRecruiter, Monster, and Dice), the extension makes a small on-page check for whether you're viewing a job posting, so it can highlight its toolbar icon. That check runs on your device, reads nothing beyond that yes/no signal, sends no page content anywhere, and captures nothing.
  • It captures only when you ask. The job-description text is read and sent to CaseBrick only in the moment you click the extension's button or use its right-click menu. It does not monitor your general browsing or read pages on sites outside that job-board list.
  • What it stores: only your setting for which CaseBrick address to open. Nothing else is saved by the extension.
  • What it never does: it does not collect your browsing history, does not track you across sites, sets no advertising cookies, and does not sell or share your data. Once a captured job reaches CaseBrick, it is handled exactly like a job you paste in yourself.

8.The optional weekly progress email

If you opt in, we send a weekly email summarizing your progress, via Resend. You can opt out anytime using the unsubscribe link in the email or in your account settings, and you'll keep getting essential account emails (like receipts) regardless.

9.Cookies & local storage

On the web, we use essential cookies only — a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in — and your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences and local session. In the app, we use your device's local storage for the same purpose. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site ad trackers.

10.Analytics

We use first-party analytics to understand how CaseBrick is used (for example, opening the app, starting a mock, or viewing the upgrade screen) so we can improve it. In the app these events are tied to a random device identifier and, when you're signed in, to your account; on the web we use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. We do not sell this data, run third-party ad trackers, or build an advertising profile, and we never send analytics your practice audio or the content of your answers.

11.Data retention

Your practice audio is never stored. Your account data (email, name, pipeline, résumé text, scores, and coach memory) is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, we remove it within 30 days.

12.Your rights & choices

You can delete your account and all associated data — including the coach's memory — in the app (Settings → Delete account) or on the web. To review, clear, or turn off the coach's memory separately, or to request a copy of your data, email support@casebrick.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

13.Children

CaseBrick is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

14.What we never do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't use your recordings or your answers to train AI models — and neither does our AI provider on data sent through its API.
  • We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
